12 Dead In London Tower Block Fire.

15 Jun 2017 At least 12 people have been killed and dozens remain unaccounted for following a huge fire that ripped through a west London tower block.

Up to 600 people are believed to have been inside Grenfell Tower's 120  flats when the blaze tore through the 24-storey building in the early hours on Wednesday.

A witness described how one desperate woman threw a baby out of a window and a man on the ground managed to catch the child.

Hundreds of firefighters battled through the night to put out the blaze.

It is unclear how many managed to get out safely but fire crews were still searching for residents feared missing.

Witnesses were heard saying that the blaze may have been caused by a faulty fridge on one of the lower floors.

Officials however said it was too early to establish any cause.
